Headingly Stadium is a sports ground complex compromising of both a rugby stadium and cricket ground. The sports centre is hosted by Yorkshire Country Cricket Club and Leeds Rhinos Rugby League Club.
In 2017, the ground was bought by Emerald Group Publishing, hence its new alias, Emerald Headingly Stadium.
Cricket at Headingly Stadium
Sitting on the northern side of the complex, test matches have been held at the Headingly Stadium for over 100 years. Occupied by Yorkshire County CC and Yorkshire Vikings Twenty20, the floodlit ground hosts global cricket events, including The Ashes in 2019. This part of the stadium holds up to 18,350 spectators.
Rugby at Headingly Stadium
Sat on the southern side of the complex is the rugby ground, which hosts both rugby league and rugby union events, including the upcoming Rugby League World Cup 2021. Home to Leeds Rhinos Rugby League Club, this side of the ground hosts up to 21,500 people.
